Buying a cell phone which suites your personality is a demand of every individual at this time. A handset which should support only the basic features but WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, Latest processor and operating system. High megapixel camera is an essential feature that the mobile companies are improving on.
I went to the market to buy a handset but trust me it was not an easy job for me to select one as I am a peRson who likes buying something which makes me feel different from the crowd..oopss. what did I say.. different from the crowd.. NO WAYS… in case of a gadget at least.
Coming back to the track. I was looking forward towards a phone which can offer good battery back up, storage capacity, and with some extra features. The three handsets that came in my mind were Samsung Galaxy S I9000, Sony Xperia X10 and Nokia N8. Samsung Galaxy S I9000 and Sony Xperia X10 operate on Android whereas Nokia N8 operates on Symbian3 which is the latest Symbian operating system Nokia has launched.
Nokia N8 has a 12 Mega-pixel camera which makes it different from the other two. But believe me clarity of Sony Xperia X10 which is 8 MP is much better than that of Nokia N8 or Samsung Galaxy S I9000 which is 5 MP but still an average.
Nokia N8 has a AMOLED 3.5 inches touch screen with 16GB internal storage and an additional expandable memory up to 32 GB with a micro SD. It supports WLAN, 3G, EDGE, GPS and GPRS. It comes in 5 different colors which are Dark Grey, Light Green, Blue, Orange and Sliver white. It has got a secondary camera on the front which can be helpful for video chat. The features, display menu are much more user friendly as the other Nokia Phones. The battery life of Nokia N8 is commendable.
Sony Xperia X10 operates on Android OS 1.6 which is upgradeable to Android 2.1. It has got a 4.0 inches TFT display which is Scratch-resistant but carrying this phone makes you feel good. It runs on 1GHz. processor (Scorpion) and has 1GB internal storage plus 8 GB card is included and an additional up to 32GB expandable memory through micro SD card. It also supports WLAN, GPRs and EDGE. It comes in Sensous Black and Luster White.
Samsung Galaxy S I9000 has a super AMOLED 4.0 inches touch screen. It runs on 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor. The internal storage is 8/16GB plus an additional expandable memory up to 32GB. It also supports 3G, WLAN and GPRs. It has an attractive screen display menu. It comes in White and Black colors.
Nokia N8 and Samsung Galaxy S I9000 offers FM whereas Sony Xperia X10 does not.
Coming to the price, Nokia launched its N8 worth Rs. 23,200 which has came down to Rs. 22000 now and Sony launched its Xperia X10 worth Rs. 28,500 which is around Rs. 27,000 now whereas Samsung Galaxy S I9000 was launched around Rs. 29000 whereas it is around Rs. 27000-28000 now.
I preferred to buy Nokia N8 because of its less cost (but with all the features), high battery life, 12MP camera, speaker clarity. It is a true value package for the money. I am writing this article a month after buying this phone but believe me I enjoy carrying this phone because of its features, Games, Music etc.
